Our story
We kept reading the news.
Then we decided to do something.
Lumeria was born out of heartbreak, and out of the belief that every girl deserves to go out and come home safe.
Lately the news has been so hard to read. Story after story of girls being taken advantage of at colleges across the country: at frat parties, at off-campus house parties, in the first few weeks of freshman year. So often it starts the same way, with something slipped into a drink she set down for a moment. Campus safety alerts. Warnings passed between roommates. Moms sending their daughters articles late at night with one line: "Please be careful."

Every one of those stories is someone's daughter. Someone's sister. Someone's best friend.
She went out to dance, to laugh, to make the kind of memories college is supposed to be about. She deserved to come home with all of them.
Reading those stories broke our hearts. We're sad, and honestly, we're angry. We couldn't keep scrolling past it and hoping it would never happen to someone we love. So we asked ourselves what we could actually do: not a hashtag, not another warning, but something real. Something small enough that a girl could bring it with her to the party.
We can't change the headlines on our own.
But we can give her one more way to look out for herself.
That became Lumeria: a tiny yellow heart that sits on your nail like nail art. Dip your fingertip in your drink, wait a few seconds, and if the heart turns green, it has reacted to GHB. Nobody at the party has to know you checked. You just get a little more peace of mind, and get back to your night with your friends.

Our promise to you
Lumeria is an extra layer of care, not a guarantee. A heart that stays yellow doesn't mean a drink is safe, and it won't detect alcohol strength or every substance. The best protection is still each other: go out together, watch each other's drinks, and leave together. If anything ever feels off, trust that feeling, tell someone and get help.
